Motor Yacht "A" by Philippe Starck

For those of you who are nautically inclined peep Russian billionaire Andrey Melnichenko's tribute to his Serbian model wife Aleksandra Nikolic. Designed by Phillipe Starck and Martin Francis, Motor Yacht "A" was built by Blohm + Voss, who also built the battleship Bismarck, the pride of the Nazi fleet in World War Two.

With a 150 million euro price tag the yacht measures 119 metres in length and weighs 5500 tonnes as well as having a fuel tank so big it costs $US1.4 million to fill. The luxury vessel is decked out with three pools, one master suite, six guest suites and living quarters for 42 staff. Other details have been kept secret by the builders but there are rumours that the aqua behemoth houses a helicopter hanger and two 30ft long speed boats which are kept in hatches on both sides of the hull.

For its maiden voyage Motor Yacht "A" sailed to Norway so the owner could collect three Claude Monet paintings.
