Simply Bread 3 (Hadoukennnn...) the MAYHEM!
Can it get any better!!
With the stakes tripled and the competitors fired up, it was no surprise that SB3 SOLD OUT!
Those who were present at Simply Bread 3 were given the opportunity to witness the best Street fighter players in the country go head to head in one of the biggest, most gruelling battle’s ever seen to date. Top 32 SF IV players from around the country gathered under one roof to battle it out for $1,000 prize pack, the championship trophy, & to be crowned KING of Street Fighter IV.
On top of that, the Freshest Kicks battle went off like tiger woods hitting a hole in one. From Jeremy Scotts wings to bape88 mids and crossed colored puma high tops, everyone was blazing the ground with they’re own swagger.
10pm (doors open)
It was 10pm and the doors have just opened for punters, sneaker heads, clubbers, SF IV enthusiasts and all that were there to have a good time to enter the premises.
Even though the queue was a block long, it didn’t dampen the vibe or the spirit of the people that were there to enjoy themselves.
Everyone was patiently waiting in line for his or her turn to be stamped and let into the battle ring.
10.30pm (not long after doors open)
Miss Libertine (the venue) was PACKED! It got very tricky trying to manoeuvre around the venue with 1 drink in your hand (let alone 2). It was definitely great to see that many SF IV enthusiasts and Sneaker heads in the one building. There was a great vibe and everyone was lovin’ it.
11pm
The sticks were oiled and the buttons were checked and ready to rock n roll for the official Street Fighter IV Australian National Championships. The battle kicked off with a bang and the crowd roared with enthusiasm as each haduken was landed. The enthusiasm the crowd brought to the night was priceless and definitely something mere number cannot replace.
12am – 2am
If you could still move around at this point, it would only mean 2 things, either you’re extremely skinny or you’re drunk/off your face/smashed and people are letting you through because they don’t want to get puke all over themselves. Either ways, the venue reached capacity, the vibe only got better and people were dancing so hard the floor was trembling for help. DJ’s 25th Hoodlum, Matik, Mafia and Victoria’s own DMC Champion B.two assisted with the beat selection all night.
Between 12pm and 2am as well, there were $5,000 worth of give aways proudly sponsored by Acclaim, Krew, Supra, Sneaker Freaker, T-world, Hemley, Robio Toys, Madman DVDs, Triumvir and Orisue. So no one left the venue empty handed, there were plenty of products to go around…
2am - 4am
After 72 rounds of non-stop action, we were down to our TOP 8 SF IV finalists. This was where the best of the best came head to head and brought everything they had to the table in order to be crowned KING of SF IV!
The final results were :
1. ToXY
2. Naruga
3. Jurist
4. Aesop
5. Alvin
5. Willy
7. Nickerz
7. Wing
One word: CRAZYYYYYY!
And to top the night off and seal it away…the freshest sneaker winner came all laced up with a pair of Puma high tops. Blue on the left and red on the right, this kid definitely put in an effort to color coordinate his wardrobe and to not have 1 side the same as the other. Kudos to the winner Hakan for taking out the freshest sneaker competition.
Big shout out to the Jeremy Scott Wings and Bapesta 88 mids that were present on the night as well! FIREEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!
Till Simply Bread 4…stay fat, eat fat sleep fat!
