MF Doom - Born Like This

MF Doom fans take note: the Vaudeville Villain's forthcoming album 'Born Like This' sees the metal-masked rapper dropping the 'MF' [Metal Fingers] prefix in favor of simple calling himself, in all capitals, DOOM. The album features collaborations with the likes of Wu-Tang Clan's Raekwon and Ghostface Killer with production from Jake One and the Detroit legend J-Dilla prior to his death.

Not content to just leave it at that, 'DOOM' remains one of the few hip-hop artists who still creates theme albums. In this case the theme is as unhip-hop as it comes, the great American everyman poet Charles Bukowski. Inspired by the 1960's and 70's poet, DOOM samples a performance by Bukowski on 'Cellz' and previously used a vocal sample as an interlude on the 2004 track 'One Beer'.

DOOM's album 'Born Like This' is due out in Spring 2009 on Lex Records.
